Gear: 10 Mistakes that Most People Make

Survival Gear List: The Essential Tools You Need to Survive Out There

If you are someone who loves the outdoors and wants to spend significant time camping and mountain trekking in remote and isolated places, then you probably are aware how important it is to always bring the necessary survival gear in order to survive. So the only question left for us to answer is what should be inside your survival kit.

1 – Knife

When you’re camping and you don’t bring with you a knife as part of your outdoor survival gear, then you’re like lacking one hand. A knife isn’t just for kitchen use; it in fact is an essential part of any survival gear. The reason why you can’t go out there without it is because it can do so many things that other outdoor survival gear and tools cannot. The knife is the tool you need in order to cut rope, bandages, and clothing, prepare food, cut wood to build fire and build shelter, and many more.

2 – Rope

Rope is undoubtedly an essential part of any DIY survival gear. Keep in mind that when it comes to your chances of survival, the absence of a rope means that yours is very slim, unless of course you know how to make your own using stuff in the environment. Rope is used for things like building shelter, climbing, holding things together, lashing poles, fishing, making animal traps, and for attachment purposes.

3 – Hydration System

Quite frankly, this one does not really need some explanation. Anyway, a normal person can survive days even without food, so long as there is water. Therefore, the failure to bring any kind of hydration system or water storage will decrease your chances of surviving out there. You need to understand that not all water you get access to outdoors is clean.

4 – Equipment for Signaling

When you’re camping and you suddenly found yourself in a survival situation, one of the first things you need to be focusing on is establishing contact with people. Bear in mind that if you let several days slip away without making the effort to make contact, your chances of being rescued will substantially decrease. So to increase the chance of making it out alive, you need to bring with you a signaling device whenever you go camping or hiking. A flashlight, mirror, whistle, or any other device that can produce either light or sound will be of great value. You just can forget bringing along a signaling equipment since it’s an essential tactical survival gear.

Aside from those four, there still are so many essential survival things you must bring with you if you want to be sure you’re safe out there, even in the middle of the most challenging survival situations.
